At this year’s alumni reunion of the mechanics institutes on January 30, 2026, organized by the Mechanics Section (IDS, IKM, and Imes), three students were honored for their outstanding (thesis) work.

- Xiaochen Zou (IDS) for her master’s thesis on the topic: Molecular dynamics simulation of the silver sintering process with ultrasonic vibration effects
- Jakob Hentschel (imes) for his master’s thesis on the topic: CardioForce – Development of a measurement system for image-based, non-destructive isometric contraction force measurement of artificial cardiac muscle tissue rings
- Tim Rother (IKM) for his student thesis on the topic: Programming of finite element software for uncertainty calculations with a user interface in C++
