Test Equipment at IDS

Our research at the Institute of Dynamics and Vibration Research (IDS) is strongly focussed on experiments. In addition to modelling, we focus on the experimental characterization of dynamic systems and the validation of our own simulation routines with our test rigs. For this reason, the IDS has a very comprehensive range of measurement equipment. The focus is on the measurement of classic mechanical values such as acceleration, velocity, distance and force, but also on the tribological investigation of materials (friction and wear) and the characterization of surfaces using optical methods.
